Q. How does the process work?
Depending on the size of your home or office a complete inventory can take any where from 2-16 hours to complete. A written estimate will be completed and we ask that the client be available during the entire process since it is necessary to obtain information about the assets. A video and pictures will be taken of the exterior as well as the interior of your property. Then items will be recorded in our asset inventory program. Make, model, serial numbers, and estimated values will be determined. Photographs will be taken of the client selected items and integrated into the asset inventory. Once all the information is collected a completed inventory pack will be returned to you within seven days. Fifty percent of the payment is due upon our initial visit and the other fifty percent is due when your product is delivered.
Q. What makes your company better than the rest?
Asset Guardian will ensure that from start to finish every precaution will be taken to protect your information. None of your personal information will ever be shared with a third party unless prior written consent is obtained. The service professionals providing the outstanding service are also the owners of the company. We take pride in our company and believe our clients will appreciate the personal attention they receive. Being police officers we know a few things about safety and security so trust is never an issue.
Q. What does Asset Guardian recommend that I document?
Collections, furniture, appliances, jewelry, vehicles, electronics and any appraised possessions. A copy of your insurance policies, appraisals, receipts and any other relevant documents should be on hand when the inventory takes place.
Q. Why use Asset Guardian, can’t I do this myself?
Asset Guardian is owned and operated by service professionals who completely understand the inventory process and have years of experience investigating thefts, fires and other natural disasters. We offer an independent inventory of your assets using video, digital photos and detailed reports. Asset Guardian provides additional protection by creating a comprehensive detail of assets, storing your inventory off site and by applying an innovative theft deterrent system called Data dots (property DNA).
Q. Will Asset Guardian help me file an insurance claim?
Asset Guardian will support their inventory with written or verbal testimony verifying that the items listed were observed in place at the time of the inventory. Furthermore, in the event that the inventory is lost, we will hand deliver, mail or fax a copy of the inventrory to the police, insurance company or another third party. (After a signed client authorization form is obtained) Asset Guardian will also testify in any legal or insurance proceeding regarding our documentation of your assets.
Q. I have Homeowners or Renters Insurance. I’m covered right?
Proper documentation ensures that property replacement is maximized. Failure to have proper documentation of stolen, lost or damaged property may result in replacement of items that are considerably less than original cost.
Q. Are my items appraised during the inventory process?
Asset Guardian investigators are not professional appraisers. The inventory usually encompasses enough detail that an appraisal can be accomplished. Also, during the inventory process the client will be able to record an estimated value for all items inventoried.
